Dam safety compliance

About Dam-Smart

What this is, who runs it, and how to reach us.

What Dam-Smart is

Dam-Smart is a digital dam inspection app and dam asset management software for owners of small, privately-regulated dams, and a multi-tenant field data collection and white-label inspection reporting platform for the engineering consultancies that file Emergency Action Plans and inspection reports on their behalf. It tracks inspection and filing due dates, keeps a record of a dam's compliance status, and offers a free public lookup tool built from each state's own public dam-safety data. See what's built for firms for the full detail, including what's on the roadmap.

Where it works today

Dam-Smart currently covers Connecticut, Georgia, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin — each with its own filing deadline, hazard classification scheme, and inspection cadence. See each state's requirements page for specifics, and look up a dam to see its current record.

Not affiliated with any state

Dam-Smart is an independent product, not a government agency or a contractor to one. Compliance data is compiled from each state's own public dam-safety filings; where a state doesn't publish enough to compute a reliable due date, Dam-Smart says so rather than guessing — see, for example, the honest gap on Massachusetts's requirements page.

Where this stands today

Dam-Smart is pre-launch — actively validating the product with real dam owners and engineering firms before a wider release. If something looks wrong on a dam's record, or you're an owner or firm interested in trying it, get in touch below.
